PPI Claims

Royal Exchange can help you to reclaim the money you are entitled to from mis-sold Payment Protection Insurance (PPI). We are regulated by the Ministry of Justice in respect of regulated claims management activities. Where there are disputes we are able to escalate to a legal claim and can take your case to court.

What is Payment Protection Insurance?

Payment Protection Insurance is designed to cover your loan repayments should you be unable to make them due to sickness or unemployment. For example if you are made redundant then the PPI policy would cover your repayments until your situation improves.

However for many years people were being sold polices that were inappropriate to their circumstances and in many cases worthless. UK banks have recognised this widespread mis-selling and so if you were mis-sold PPI when you took out your credit card, loan or mortgage you could get the money back.

How do I know if I have been mis-sold PPI?

There are many ways in which your PPI could have been mis-sold. If you are unsure if you have a claim ask yourself the following questions -

  • Were you informed that PPI is optional?
  • Was the full cost of the PPI explained to you?
  • Did your Payment Protection Insurance cover the full period of the loan?
  • Did you have any pre-existing medical conditions that would make the PPI invalid?
  • Was the PPI policy added without your knowledge?
  • Were you retired, self employed or unemployed at the time of taking out the policy?

If you can answer no to any of these questions then you may be entitled to compensation.
